Let’s not be dupes. Let’s call it the way it is and not be fooled. Mitt Romney is not stupid. He is intelligent and informed and well connected in the Swamp. Mitt is fully aware and knows the intentions and tactics of the Democrats and Leftists. Mitt knows the impeachment charade in the House of Representatives was a fabricated and conspired effort to remove the President. He knows that Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler are devious liars and charlatans. Mitt knows that from the moment Trump was elected (in fact even before the election) the Democrats plotted and schemed to impeach and remove the President. It was no secret because they proclaimed loudly and often. And Mitt is fully aware of the constant faux events and bombshells the Democrats have spewed ad nauseam.
Yet Mitt chose to side with the Democrats and radical Left to remove the duly elected President. Mitt sided with the coup. And he would have us believe that his decision was based on his religion, faith, and moral principles. Sorry, not buying it, and in fact no one should.
Mitt’s Speech at the University of Utah on March 3, 2016 tells us all we need to know about Mitt’s disdain and views about Trump. His remarks clearly identify Mitt’s motives behind his impeachment vote.
“Here’s what I know. Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud. His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University. He’s playing the American public for suckers: He gets a free ride to the White House and all we get is a lousy hat.”
“His domestic policies would lead to recession. His foreign policies would make America and the world less safe. He has neither the temperament nor the judgment to be president. And his personal qualities would mean that America would cease to be a shining city on a hill.”
“Let me put it plainly, if we Republicans choose Donald Trump as our nominee, the prospects for a safe and prosperous future are greatly diminished.”
“If Donald Trump’s plans were ever implemented, the country would sink into a prolonged recession.”
“But wait, you say, isn’t he a huge business success that knows what he’s talking about? No he isn’t. His bankruptcies have crushed small businesses and the men and women who worked for them. He inherited his business, he didn’t create it. And what ever happened to Trump Airlines? How about Trump University? And then there’s Trump Magazine and Trump Vodka and Trump Steaks, and Trump Mortgage? A business genius he is not.”
“Trump’s bombast is already alarming our allies and fueling the enmity of our enemies. Insulting all Muslims will keep many of them from fully engaging with us in the urgent fight against ISIS.”
“Donald Trump tells us that he is very, very smart. I’m afraid that when it comes to foreign policy he is very, very not smart.”
“I am far from the first to conclude that Donald Trump lacks the temperament of be president.”
“Donald Trump says he admires Vladimir Putin, while has called George W. Bush a liar. That is a twisted example of evil trumping good.”
“Dishonesty is Trump’s hallmark:…His is not the temperament of a stable, thoughtful leader. His imagination must not be married to real power.”
“The President of the United States has long been the leader of the free world. The president and yes the nominees of the country’s great parties help define America to billions of people. All of them bear the responsibility of being an example for our children and grandchildren.”
“Think of Donald Trump’s personal qualities, the bullying, the greed, the showing off, the misogyny, the absurd third grade theatrics. We have long referred to him as “The Donald.” He is the only person in America to whom we have added an article before his name. It wasn’t because he had attributes we admired.”
“Now imagine your children and your grandchildren acting the way he does. Will you welcome that? Haven’t we seen before what happens when people in prominent positions fail the basic responsibility of honorable conduct? We have, and it always injures our families and our country.”
“There are a number of people who claim that Mr. Trump is a con man, a fake.”
“We will only really know if he is the real deal or a phony if he releases his tax returns and the tape of his interview with the New York Times. I predict that there are more bombshells in his tax returns. If I’m right, you will have all the proof you need to know that Donald Trump is a phony.”
“Mr. Trump is directing our anger for less than noble purposes. He creates scapegoats of Muslims and Mexican immigrants, he calls for the use of torture and for killing the innocent children and family members of terrorists. He cheers assaults on protesters. He applauds the prospect of twisting the Constitution to limit first amendment freedom of the press. This is the very brand of anger that has led other nations into the abyss.”
All of this is only a sample but clearly takes us into Mitt’s mind and reveals his venom and disdain for Trump. His views then and subsequently reveal his absolute abhorrence of President Trump and clearly manifest why Mitt was willing to demean himself and side with the radicals, Leftists and Democrats.
It’s not about the Constitution and abuse of power or his faith. It’s all about Mitt’s hate, animus, and self-righteousness. Mitt chose to accept the Left’s efforts and tactics and fabrications as the vehicle to accomplish his long held wishes.
Yes the LDS Church does hold the Constitution in high regard and believes it is divinely inspired and should be upheld. But if Mitt were truly honest and a man of faith and principles, as he claims, he would have acquitted Trump in spite of his personal animus against him. Mitt’s actions and vote were in fact in direct opposition to the very principles he used to justify his impeachment vote. President Trump committed no impeachable offenses and thus Mitt should have acquitted Trump if he truly was upholding the Constitution as he claimed he was.
For Mitt to claim that Trump was meddling in the 2020 election by addressing Biden’s corrupt activities in Ukraine and is therefore an abuse of power and an impeachable offense is ludicrous. Mitt knows it and even the Democrats know it if they would be honest.
Mitt has camouflaged his true motives by hiding behind his religion and faith to placate us and soften our scorn. Sorry Mitt, the ruse is obvious.
Mitt is not someone to admire. Perhaps he deserves some pity, but certainly he deserves our disfavor and rejection. Mitt’s hate and disdain for Trump caused him to sell his soul to the radical Left, and trample on his religion, the Constitution, the 60+ million Americans who voted for Trump, the Republican Party, and those who supported him when he ran for President. Mitt has revealed himself as a lying hater, fraud and typical slippery politician.
A final question for Mitt, does “the ends justify the means” a part of your religion as well?
